This past month in North Korea, Will Phillipps was one of a group of foreign amateur runners who were allowed to participate for the first time in the Pyongyang marathon. Phillipps is a British expat living in Beijing. And he wrote about his experience for the Roads and Kingdoms online travel magazine. We reached them via Skype, and he told us that, as you can imagine, there were a few restrictions for participants.

California Chrome Wins The Kentucky Derby

California Chrome, ridden by Victor Espinoza, comes out of the fourth turn en route to winning the 140th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs on Saturday.

California Chrome won the 140th running of Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville Saturday. The horse was favored to win, despite quirks that set him apart from his more traditional competitors.

"Derby dreams do come true," an announcer said after the race.

Grizzlies Face OKC Thunder In Game 7 Without Randolph

The Memphis Grizzlies will be without top scorer Zach Randolph in Game 7 against the Thunder on Saturday night, but they remain confident.

Randolph was suspended for punching Steven Adams in the jaw late in Game 6. Memphis coach Dave Joerger said Saturday that his 6-foot-9, 260-pound forward feels "terrible" and "awful" about the situation. The Grizzlies say their offensive game plan changes completely, but they expect their stout defense to give them a chance.

Basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar says he believes the entire LA Clippers corporate organization is better off now that owner Donald Sterling has lost his standing with the NBA.

Sterling was banned for life from the NBA last week for racist remarks made on a recording released by TMZ Sports. Abdul-Jabbar says the punishment announced by NBA commissioner Adam Silver is wise and just, and has given the team confidence.
