Next Stage and KnockDownDragOut Productions present Nick Payne’s Constellations Next Stage and KnockDownDragOut Productions launch their first collaborative venture with this production of Constellations by Nick Payne. Performances are November 3, 4, 9, 10, and 11 at 8pm at IAO Gallery, 706 W. Sheridan, OKC 73102. Tickets are $25 at the door. Directed by Rodney Brazil, Constellations features Emily Etherton and Todd Clark in a spellbinding, romantic journey that begins with a simple encounter between a man and a woman. But what happens next defies the boundaries of the world we think we know—delving into the infinite possibilities of their relationship and raising questions about the difference between choice and destiny. Through a dizzying fugue of vignettes, audiences watch as Marianne and Roland’s relationship unfolds across time and space, with each variation sending their relationship on an entirely new trajectory. Science and romance collide in this unusual love story. “Short and sweet and strangely haunting…The devilishly clever scribe is not playing games with either his characters or his audience, because with each iteration Roland and Marianne grow closer to one another—and become more important to us. And by the end of the play (has it really been only an hour?), we’re fully invested in their lives. All of them.” —Variety. Next Stage and KnockDownDragOut are proud to present Constellations at the Individual Artists of Oklahoma Gallery on OKC’s historic Film Row, in the heart of Oklahoma’s thriving arts scene.
