The final This I Believe essay produced for NPR is scheduled for April 26 on Weekend Edition Sunday. This I Believe

Ellen Weiss, Senior Vice President for NPR News, wrote in a memo to stations, "The original vision for This I Believe was that it would be a one-year project, and the fact that it has continued for four years is a testimony to the overwhelming listener participation in the series (more than 60,000 essay submissions to date), support from local stations, and the strength of the NPR/TIB collaboration."

This I Believe, Inc. will continue to solicit essays and publish them on the Web at www.thisibelieve.org, and will continue to provide teachers with curricula and assistance in bringing essay-writing exercises into classrooms.
