Alexander is a senior communication major at the University of Oklahoma who joined the KGOU crew in the Fall of 2013. He writes the station's OneSix8 blog and produces the Community Events Calendar.  Born and raised in Orange County, California, he moved to Oklahoma City in August of 2005 where he graduated with Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School's class of 2010.

The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) hosts its annual 12x12 Art Fundraiser at Science Museum Oklahoma in Oklahoma City Friday, September 19.

The event features the work of 150 local artists in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, photography and ceramics.

Each artist has one cubic foot of space to let his or her imagination run wild, giving collectors the opportunity to bid for each 12x12 piece in silent and blind auctions starting at $175 per work.

The University of Oklahoma's School of Art and Art History hosts its Graduate Student Symposium this weekend. New Perspectives in Native American Art and Art of the American West takes place in the Mary Eddy and Fred Jones Auditorium of the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art.

The symposium begins with a reception and keynote address by the museum’s Director and Chief Curator Emily B. Neff on Thursday, September 4 at 6 p.m.
