Ahead of the Storm: The Oklahoma Tornado Project

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

October 28, 2013

This is from the Manager’s Desk.

KGOU has a new series that started in early October called “Ahead of the Storm: The Oklahoma Tornado Project.” The focus is about what we have learned from last season’s tornados, and how we are better preparing for the next round of storms.

The stories will cover the recovery from the tornados last May, but we also will look forward, to learn how to better prepare and respond. The project is funded from a grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and the work of the Oklahoma Tornado Project is available to all media organizations.

The main reporter is Kate Carlton. She is a graduating senior from the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at OU, and she will continue the reports through next summer.

Listen for the broadcast reports on KGOU, and read about it all at www.tornado.kgou.org.
