Attorneys in Oklahoma are preparing to argue that the state should release a report about a drug rehabilitation facility where three patients died.
The Tulsa World reports a Pittsburg County district judge will hear arguments Tuesday about the NarcononArrowhead center, which is financially backed by the Church of Scientology. An attorney has requested investigative records from the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
Two department employees say their bosses withheld a report recommending the closure of the facility after the deaths in 2011 and 2012. They say the agency buried the report to avoid a lawsuit with the church.
A center board member says its stance in the lawsuit is about protecting privacy rights.
