Central Oklahoma residents are voicing concern about a swarm of earthquakes that has shaken the region in recent months.
Residents will meet with state lawmakers and regulators Thursday night to discuss what is causing the earthquakes and what can be done to stop them.
Rep. Jason Murphey of Guthrie says earthquakes regularly shake the area, including a magnitude 3.6 earthquake that the U.S. Geological Survey says was recorded southwest of Guthrie early Thursday morning.
Murphey says damage to homes and other structures is the biggest concern. He says reports of cracked walls and foundations have become commonplace.
Murphey says the Oklahoma Corporation Commission is investigating whether there is a correlation between the earthquakes and oil and natural gas drilling operations. He says operations should not occur near a fault line.
