Departing Students and the Capitol Steps Return

May 1, 2016

This is from the Manager's Desk.

The spring semester is ending at the University of Oklahoma, and I want to thank the students working at KGOU.

Richard Bassett is our digital music and production producer, and Storme Jones is the noon news host. Both Richard and Storme will be with us for the summer.

Cesia Rascon has been our calendar editor, and will graduate from the University of Oklahoma this spring. We wish her the very best!

Adam Burnett was our reporter Radio News class and we will hear his final stories in the next few weeks.

And in the KGOU Practicum class were Adam Burnett, Collin Gaddie, David Ransom and Patrick Smith. We appreciate their hard work!

And some good news! The Capitol Steps are returning to Oklahoma City. The Capitol Steps will be live at the OCCC Visual and Performing Arts Center on July 16.  KGOU members will receive an e-mail soon with a special pre-sale code for the best seats.  Tickets will be available to the public May 10 and we'll have more information then.

Thanks! From the Manager’s Desk, I’m Karen Holp.

Karen earned her Master (1974) and Bachelor (1972) degrees from the University of Akron in Ohio, and has worked as Program Director at WMRA-FM, James Madison University in Harrisonburg Virginia and WUIS-FM, University of Illinois at Springfield. She moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1979 to become General Manager of KRWG-FM.
