This week, Morning Edition and All Things Considered sound different.
And they do – because the times for local items have changed within the programs. All the usual things are still there – KGOU news, traffic reports, weather, and calendars – but they are most likely at different times.
The NPR items are still there too -- Frank DeFord, StoryCorps and more.
NPR spent a year studying the structure of these programs – looking at how audiences use radio and what the needs are for local stations. The question was how to best structure each hour to make both the national and local content flow easily. And this week, the changes are happening.
You might notice these changes, especially if in the past you knew what time is was by what was on the radio. It is different now.
And it will take a little time to adjust our habits in our on-air work each day this week, but we’ll get used to it. I’m sure you will too!
