facebook

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting.

One person died in the incident that occurred Monday morning near Henryetta.

The OSBI says Creek Nation Lighthorse and Henryetta police received several calls around 7 a.m. Monday about a truck that was going west on Interstate 40's eastbound lanes.

Officials say the driver of the truck refused to pull over and a pursuit ensued. A police officer from the Creek Nation fired his weapon and the truck crashed.

A man driving the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger was not hurt.

Authorities have not released the names of those involved.

The Okmulgee County District Attorney requested that the OSBI investigate the incident.
