The threat of Ebola has caused some Tulsa organizations to rethink their mission efforts in west Africa.
David Rogers with Youth Vision International tells the Tulsa World that he's directed his leaders to stop holding weekly Christian youth meetings in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. Those nations have suffered some of the heaviest casualties from the deadly disease.
He says one of his leaders has died, but it wasn't from Ebola. Rogers says the man suffered an asthma attack and couldn't get the medical attention he needed due to the Ebola outbreak.
The CEO of Blessings International in Tulsa, which provides medical supplies for missionaries, says he's seeing fewer people going into affected areas. The organization has been in contact with pastor in Sierra Leone who's lost five members of his church congregation to Ebola.
