OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Gov. Mary Fallin has appointed an Idabel attorney to an associate district judgeship for McCurtain County in southeastern Oklahoma.
Fallin announced the appointment of Kenneth Farley on Friday. Farley replaces former associate district judge Michael DeBerry, who became a district judge.
Farley's law practice focuses on bankruptcy and real estate litigation. He also represents several communities such as the towns of Idabel, Haworth, Garvin and Wright City. Prior to managing his own practice, he served as the assistant district attorney in McCurtain County from 1983 to 1986.
Farley also served in the U.S. Navy and was discharged in 1971. Farley was awarded the National Defense Service Medal as well as the Vietnam Service Medal and received a commendation for his service at the U.S. Naval Support Activity in Danang, Vietnam.
