Former House Speaker To Join Tulsa Consulting Firm

Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon
Oklahoma House

Former Oklahoma Speaker of the House and Republican U.S. Senate candidate T.W. Shannon of Lawton has joined a Tulsa-based consulting firm.

Premier Consulting Partners announced Tuesday that the 36-year-old Shannon would head up its newly formed national community bank division, introducing the company's services to prospective new clients.

Shannon was both the youngest and first African American speaker of the Oklahoma House when he was elected speaker before the start of the 2013 legislative session.

He stepped down from the post before the start of this year's session to run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated early by Sen. Tom Coburn.

He finished second in a seven-man primary behind U.S. Sen.-elect James Lankford.

Shannon and his family are relocating to the Tulsa area.
