KGOU's Year In 2015

Some of the awards received by KGOU in the spring of 2015.
KGOU

January 3, 2016

This is from the Manager’s Desk.

As we start 2016, I want to note some accomplishments from 2015, accomplished with help from listener-supporters.

Last year, KGOU provided 8,760 hours of news, conversation, information and entertainment, including 572 hours of programming produced locally.

Over the last year, KGOU has produced more than 800 news and feature stories for broadcast and/or our website.

At least 29 times, our reporters contributed long-form stories to national programs – averaging more than three reports each month. Fifteen were fromStateImpact Oklahoma and 24 were by KGOU staff. A list of these reports is below, and these do not include headline news reports we have contributed.

KGOU and StateImpact Oklahoma were honored with 50 awardsin 2015, 29 for the KGOU staff, 10 for StateImpact Oklahoma, and 11 for student broadcasters.

2015 was a great year. As you might have heard us say, listener support is what keeps it all going.

Thank you -- for listening, for visiting our website, and for your financial contributions.  We are looking forward to 2016.

From the Manager’s Desk, I’m Karen Holp.
