The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents will consider approving the design and development phase for a major construction project of two residential colleges.
Each facility would house about 300 students and a faculty member in residence, and be connected by a communal dining area. It would also have a storm shelter.
The project’s current budget is set at $100 million, and the Regents’ agenda says funding has been identified from private sources, OU Housing reserves, and future general revenue bonds.
It would be located just south of Lindsey Street between Jenkins and Asp Aves., just north of the power facility and the Huston Huffman fitness center. The proposed site is currently occupied by a parking lot.
The Regents will also discuss repaving Timberdell Road between Jenkins and Chautauqua Aves., and a renovation of the reception and check-in area of Goddard Health Center.
The seven-member body meets Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at the OU Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.
