Health officials in Oklahoma say they're keeping a close eye on a measles outbreak in Texas.
There have been no reported cases of measles in Oklahoma. But state Department of Health Immunization Service Director Lori Linstead says there is concern because measles is very contagious and "spreads like wildfire."
Symptoms include a high fever and red blotchy rash starting on the face and spreading to the body. Health officials are advising health care providers to consider measles when diagnosing patients with those symptoms.
Anyone not vaccinated is at risk of getting the disease.
The last reported case of measles in Oklahoma was in 1997.
