A Muslim advocacy group is seeking an apology from an Oklahoma lawmaker for saying people should be wary of those who are "Muslim American" in a Facebook post.
The Oklahomachapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations said Wednesday that it wants an apology from state Rep. John Bennett.
Bennett said in the post that the Quran states non-Muslims should be killed. He tells The Oklahoman that he is standing by his Facebook comments. He also says the national group was an un-indicted, co-conspirator in a terrorism trial.
The executive director of the organization's Oklahoma chapter says Bennett's remarks about the Quran are false. He also says the group has no ties to Islamic terrorist groups.
