NPR's Kelly McEvers To Visit Oklahoma Oct. 2

2010 NPR, by Doby Photography

This is from the Manager’s Desk.

This week I have an invitation for you.

NPR’s foreign correspondent, Kelly McEvers, just returned from her 3-year assignment covering the Middle East and she will visit KGOU.

Kelly created an audio documentary, Diary of a Bad Year, and as a preview of her visit, you can hear the documentary Sept. 29 at noon.

KGOU will host a public forum Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History in Norman.

Two professors from the University of Oklahoma's College of International Studies, Dr. Josh Landis and Dr. Samer Shehata, will join McEvers on stage. Both OU faculty have been called on for their insight by the major networks covering the Middle East. All three will discuss current events.

There are more details on the KGOU calendar page.  I hope you can join us!

From the Manager’s Desk, I’m Karen Holp.

Karen earned her Master (1974) and Bachelor (1972) degrees from the University of Akron in Ohio, and has worked as Program Director at WMRA-FM, James Madison University in Harrisonburg Virginia and WUIS-FM, University of Illinois at Springfield. She moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1979 to become General Manager of KRWG-FM.
