The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a man shot and killed by authorities grabbed a trooper and shoved him to the ground.

OHP spokesman Paul Timmons said at a news conference Monday that two troopers were asking Nehemiah and Brandon Fischer to get out of floodwaters on Friday.

Timmons said the Fischers walked toward the troopers and Nehemiah Fischer shoved one trooper to the ground. Fischer then was shot.

Timmons said OHP is investigating how many shots were fired. OHP has said a gun belonging to Nehemiah Fischer was recovered.

Timmons showed video of the incident, but only one trooper is visible after the scuffle begins. His gun was raised.

The troopers are on administrative leave. Timmons said one has 8 years' experience and the other has 1 year of experience.
