Oklahoma Teacher Of The Year Nominees Announced

The Oklahoma State Department of Education has named the 12 finalists for the annual Teacher of the Year award.

State Superintendent Janet Barresi made the announcement Wednesday. The winner will be announced this fall.

The finalists are: Tonya Lynn Boyle, a fifth-grade teacher in Broken Arrow; Cynthia Brown, an English teacher in Piedmont; Roger Clement, a science teacher in Noble; Amber Elder, a first- and second-grade teacher in Putnam City Schools; Adam Forester, a chemistry teacher in Bethany; Monica Hodgden, a pre-kindergarten teacher in Woodward; James LeGrand, a history teacher in Altus; Jennifer Luttmer, a second-grade teacher in Sallisaw; Romney Nesbitt, an art teacher in Jenks; Jason Scott Proctor, a math teacher in Tahlequah; Diane Walker, a history teacher in Muskogee and LeaAnn Wyrick, a geography teacher in Atoka.
