As KGOU and KOSU began crafting ideas for our collaborative election project Oklahoma Engaged, we were interested in several forms of storytelling. This included informative and in-depth radio stories and video profiles of folks in a south Oklahoma City district.
In this video, naturalized citizen Agustin Trejo talks about the 17 years he's lived in south Oklahoma City. He's never voted, and says he might cast a ballot for the first time this year. He says a lot of his neighbors are afraid to go to the polls because they don't know how they'll be received.
Oklahoma Engaged is a collaborative series between KGOU and KOSU, with support from the Kirkpatrick Foundation. You can find more and follow along at OklahomaEngaged.com.
