Tuesday’s primary runoff election will put one new Republican in the Senate and three freshman Republicans and two freshman Democrats in the House.
Republicans Stephanie Bice and Mark Thomas face off in Senate District 22, where the winner of Tuesday’s runoff election will claim that seat.
In the House, Republicans John Pfeiffer and Harold LeValley are competing in the runoff for the House District 38 seat. The winner of the runoff between Republicans Casey Murdock and Kenny Bob Tapp will decide who claims the House District 61 seat. Republicans Melissa Abdo and Chuck Strohm face one another in the runoff that will decide the winner of the House District 69 seat.
No Democrat or Independent candidates filed in those races.
Two new Democratic members will be named to the House by Tuesday’s primary runoff election.
In House District 88, Jason Dunnington and Paula Sophia face one another with the winner taking the seat since no Republican or Independent candidates filed in the race.
The same holds true for House District 89, where Democrats Mary Sosa Stone face off against one another in a race to claim that seat.
