This is the Manager’s Minute.

As we turn the calendar to a new year, changes are coming to KGOU’s on-air voices.

After nearly 40 years on the air, Diane Rehm has retired, and beginning January second, you’ll hear Joshua Johnson and his new program, 1A, weekday mornings at 9:00.

And, January fourth is the final day at KGOU for Morning Edition host Brian Hardzinski.

Brian has spent almost eleven years at KGOU.

He started with us in 2006 as a student intern, and that led to producing and hosting Assignment: Radio, Community Calendars, the Business Intelligence Report, and producing World Views.

Brian has also served as operations manager, host of Morning Edition and digital news editor.

We’re sorry to lose Brian, but are excited he’s heading to WBUR in Boston, where he’ll be producer for the daily national call-in show, On Point.

Good luck, Brian, and thanks.

Until next time, with the Manager’s Minute, I’m Dick Pryor.

Dick Pryor has more than 30 years of experience in public service media, having previously served as deputy director, managing editor, news manager, news anchor and host for OETA, Oklahoma’s statewide public TV network. He was named general manager of KGOU Radio in November 2016.
