Members of an agency that oversees Oklahoma's system for compensating injured workers will meet with representatives of the Attorney General's Office to discuss the agency's compliance with the state's Open Meeting Act.
A special meeting of the newly created Workers Compensation Commission is scheduled Wednesday. It was called last week after officials discovered possible violations of the law that requires certain meetings of public bodies to be conducted in public.
The attorney general will review previous actions by the three-member panel during the meeting to determine if remedial action needs to be taken. Officials will also offer their advice on how to comply with the open meeting law.
Officials say previous advice given to the panel about compliance was incorrect. The assistant attorney general who provided the advice was fired.
