The State Regents for Higher Education will again consider the issueof concealed carry on campus, according to Chancellor Glen D. Johnson.
Johnson said Wednesday the regents expect a “fairly active interim,” and will consider a joint interim study authored by Rep. John Enns, R-Waukomis, and Sens. AJ Griffin, R-Guthrie and Ralph Shortey, R-Oklahoma City, about concealed carry on college and university campuses.
Hollye Hunt, with governmental relations for the regents, said Johnson will be speaking at the study along with several others, such as President David Boren with the University of Oklahoma, President Burns Hargis with Oklahoma State University, a representative from the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET), a representative from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the National Rifle Association.
Hunt says that the study is set for Oct. 8. Neither the House nor the Senate has released an agenda for the joint study.
