State Retirement System Interim Study To Be Held In November

State Rep. Randy McDaniel (R-OKC)
Oklahoma House of Representatives

As interim studies start to be heard, one of the most prevalent topics will not be heard until November: IS-H14-005, the annual review of the state retirement system.

The study will review the investment performance, best practices and funded status of each retirement system. Rep. Randy McDaniel, R-Edmond, who requested the study, says that this is similar to other interim studies on this topic that have been done in the last few years.

McDaniel said, “The premise of the interim study, which is the same thing we’ve done the last three or four years, is we start off saying, ‘Where are we?’ and then we go with, ‘Okay, now what is it we’re thinking about.’ This year we will look at best practices that are being achieved across the country and financial condition system will be reviewed. The needs for future improvements will be considered. ”
