The state of Oklahoma is looking for someone to redevelop a historic building in the heart of downtown Guthrie.

The Office of Management and Enterprise Services has issued a request for proposals for the purchase or lease and redevelopment of the 50,000-square-foot Oklahoma State Capital Publishing Company building.

The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but the state closed the museum in 2012 because of a lack of funding.

The state is seeking proposals to purchase or lease and redevelop the property as the result of a law that that went into effect last year that applies to properties that are considered "underutilized."

Tours of the building for interested parties will be held next month before the deadline for proposals.
