The National Weather Service says significant amounts of snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected over parts of Oklahoma from Thursday morning into Friday afternoon.
Snow and sleet is forecast to most likely occur near and north of a line from Lawton to Norman to Shawnee. South of that line, forecasters say ice is the main concern.
The light freezing rain should begin Thursday morning, with heavier amounts of frozen precipitation falling from Thursday evening through early Friday morning.
Dangerous driving conditions are likely from the accumulation of ice and snow. While power outages are likely in southern Oklahoma due to ice collecting on power lines.
Temperatures will also fall over the next three days, with daytime highs ranging from near 40 degrees in the northwest to the mid-50s tomorrow. Those readings will fall into the mid-to-upper 20s for Friday and Saturday.
