The Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma is opening a Sonic Drive-In in Missouri in hopes of diversifying its economic ventures.

This is the first time the Oklahoma City-based Sonic Corp. has reached a development deal with a Native American tribe.

The tribe says the expected completion date for the restaurant is in October. It will be located in Seneca, about 10 miles from the tribe's headquarters in northeastern Oklahoma.

Kelly Carpino is the CEO of Wyandotte Tribe of Oklahoma, the Wyandotte Nation's chartered corporation. She says the restaurant brings something that is needed to the area and will boost the local economy.

Carpino says the Sonic will have a layout with 21 stalls and a drive through, creating 30 to 35 full- and part-time jobs.
