Heavy snow is going to fall "from central Kansas through central Missouri and Illinois, into central Indiana" starting Tuesday, the National Weather Service says. Then, the "same system could bring a foot of snow [from] northern Pennsylvania into central New England on Wednesday."

Sixteen cities, four counties and numerous state agencies in the metro joined together to develop a comprehensive snow route for the entire region, from Lexington to Guthrie and Yukon to Harrah.

Wet Thursday, Cold Weekend Coming

An upper level low moving through the region Wednesday through the end of the week will bring increasing chances of precipitation from early Thursday through Friday morning.

Thunderstorms will be possible, primarily Thursday afternoon across southern parts of Oklahoma. A light rain/snow mix may be possible early Friday morning.

Rain chances return Saturday afternoon with some snow possible Sunday across northern Oklahoma. Other areas of the state could see a wintry mix of precipitation.
