Tulsa Oral Surgeon Surrenders State License

An Oklahoma oral surgeon whose filthy clinics led to the testing of thousands of patients for HIV and hepatitis has surrendered his professional license.

Scott Harrington permanently surrendered his license Friday to the State Board of Dentistry. Harrington's two Tulsa-area clinics have been closed since March 2013, when state health officials urged about 7,000 of his current and former patients to get tested for the diseases.

Link Of HIV, Tulsa Dental Office 'Inconclusive'

The Tulsa Health Department says genetic tests on HIV specimens from former patients of an Oklahoma oral surgeon accused of maintaining filthy office conditions are inconclusive for potential connection to his practice.

Specimens from three of four patients of Dr. W. Scott Harrington testing positive for HIV were submitted to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for genetic analysis to determine if the source of infections was related to the clinic.
