Fallin Announces New Board Appointments

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Gov. Mary Fallin has appointed an aerospace industry official and a criminal defense attorney to the state board that oversees Oklahoma's prison system.

Fallin announced her appointments to several boards and commissions on Wednesday, including two spots on the seven-member Board of Corrections.

Fallin named T. Hastings Siegfried of Tulsa and Gene Haynes of Claremore to serve six-year terms on the panel.

Siegfried is the vice chairman and chief operating officer of Tulsa-based aerospace manufacturing company NORDAM. He replaces former Republican state Sen. Gerald Wright. Haynes is a criminal defense attorney and former district attorney who replaces Matthew McBee.

Both appointments require Senate confirmation.

Fallin also named appointees to the Construction Industries Board, Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission, and Board of Regents for Redlands Community College, among others.
