According to figures released by the United States Department of Agriculture, the prevalence of food insecurity in Oklahoma between 2014 and 2015, though declining… was nevertheless higher than the national average.
On this week’s KGOU Sunday Radio Matinee showcase we explore the topic of food insecurity in Oklahoma by way of a May 3rd public forum put together by the non-partisan journalism organization, Oklahoma Watch. The event features Hunger Free Oklahoma Exectutive Director, Chris Bernard; Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma CEO Katie Fitzgerald; and Leon Hill, the Executive Director of Operations for Oklahoma City Schools. Moderating the event was Oklahoma Watch Executive Editor David Fritze.
