Strength in Numbers

Back in 2009, a mathematician by the name of Tim Gowers posted a theorem on his blog and asked his readers to help prove it together. They did, in a month. A lot of very bright people came together and solved it. Strength in numbers.

That is also how I see the community of public radio and public media. You are part of a large number of very smart folks. And a number of you financially support the broadcast and digital work from KGOU and StateImpact Oklahoma.

Public media was designed to be funded in part by the principle of strength in numbers – from listeners to the broadcasts, to readers of the web pages, Facebook posts and Twitter feeds.

That is why every member is important, regardless of the size of your donation. KGOU and all our services will remain viable and growing if there is strength in the number of members.

Thanks. From the Manager’s Desk, I’m Karen Holp.

Karen earned her Master (1974) and Bachelor (1972) degrees from the University of Akron in Ohio, and has worked as Program Director at WMRA-FM, James Madison University in Harrisonburg Virginia and WUIS-FM, University of Illinois at Springfield. She moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1979 to become General Manager of KRWG-FM.
